Hi, I'm James Cullum - a photographer and writer living in Washington, D.C.
I live for finding great moments, from slave liberations in South Sudan to profiling commercial fishermen on the Potomac River in Virginia.
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from Vermont's Goddard College, where I studied creative writing. I've written for newspapers and websites in DC and Northern Virginia over the past decade and began taking pictures professionally after reporting from an earthquake-ridden Haiti in 2010. Since then, I've taken pictures at thousands of events and have photographed all over the DC Metro area and in Israel, France, Algeria, Morocco, Bermuda, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya.
